Happy Prime Birthday Big D!

...thrilled to be celebrating another trip around the sun.

Today is Darrell's 61st birthday.  Here's the "61" visual:

 

Yes, that IS a flaming cupcake in bed to start the day.  When you get to be 61, you're allowed to take risks. 

 

Darrell's Tuesday scan is tentatively declared "clear," read by the radiologist thus far.  (Appointments and confirmation from Drs. Cloughesy and Park follow in a couple weeks.)

Darrell never takes a clear scan for granted, and this one adds to a very happy birthday indeed.

 

Prime Days

 

We had some fun doing some birthday math this morning.  (It's Birthday Month!  Go wild!)  

We'd like to say we're in the "prime" of our lives...for more reason than one.

Here we are at the park this morning, with me newly 59 and Darrell a freshly minted 61.  

 

Both 59 and 61 are prime numbers.  (You know...that means they each have exactly two factors:  One and itself.)

Us being consecutive prime numbers has happened few times, specifically, when I and he were:

• 3 and 5
• 5 and 7
• 11 and 13
• 17 and 19 (near the start of our lives together)
  
• 29 and 31
• 41 and 43

Lest you think it's no big deal because our consecutive prime status is not new, notice that the frequency of the occurrence decreases the older we get. 

 We won't be consecutive primes again until:

• 101 and 103 
  

We're usually up for a challenge.  We'll see.

In the meantime, let's keep enjoying cupcakes in bed.
