…back to traveling.

Greetings from Albany, New York!

Albany is the launch pad for our Appalachian Trail Adventure. We’re here for a couple days before we head to Massachusetts and hike. Tomorrow Meridyth and family join us.

Here’s the view as we came in to land:

I looked out the window and grinned. This trip became very real to me. That scene looks like every Google Map satellite image and every trail report we read in our copious planning efforts.

We have never been to upstate New York. And It’s been nearly two years since Darrell and I have flown. We forgot how to do so many air travel type things!

Example: It was 3:40 a.m. when a guard at LAX told us, “Stop. Go no farther.” (Oops! Masks in pockets don’t count as masks.)

We also needed to dust off our Uber skills to get to our Albany hotel.

Now the skills of travel adventure are coming back to us!

Fortunately, so is the adventurous travel attitude. After a delicious dinner, We got caught in what my weather app called a “severe thunderstorm.” Wow! High winds and drenching rains! We spent the evening blow drying our soggy gear. Smiling. Unique New York.
